Smart guy. Made money off of other people's greed and said "later bitches!" He can go smoke up and have fun while everyone else is working.

I really enjoyed reading his letter.
I'm more "Pro-USA" than many on this board; so why would I find a "fuck you very much, I took your money and ran!" letter satisfying?
B/C I'm so tired of watching my country RUN ITSELF into the ground, that's why. Our banks and the senators that voted "yes" on their proposals 10 years ago are responsible for the mess we're in right now. So are "the powers that be" for putting the final stamp of approval on said "voted into law" decisions.
This guy saw that the system was inherently busted and took advantage of it; is their anything more American than that? Nope.
I hope he enjoys his retirement.
For the first time in 22 years, I'm not voting. That's how fed up I am with the system as a whole. I'm SO TIRED of politicians and Big Business on ALL SIDES of the coin only looking out for themselves and NOT the country, at least a little bit.
We're in for a whole lot of shit, America. We'll pull thru like we always do, but I don't think we'll be the same afterwards.

Actually, I've resided all over the country (literally) in the past 15 years. I've been in pro-liberal-democrat-gayville and I've been in string-em-up-where's-my-gun-tightywhiteyville-south.
What's important is PRO-AMERICA; and I don't appreciate you making fun of the "pro-Amercian" places by poking fun at them. I'm very disappointed by your reply.
If you're not for this country, you really should get the fuck out, or shut the fuck up. Really. TODAY is not a day for the cynic or the undecided. Our country stands at a crossroads. We're the greatest nation in civilized history that has gotten itself into the deepest shit in history. And it's up to us to get ourselves out. I thought that should be plainly obvious by now.
30 years ago I was growing up in a place where illegal immigrants were taking advantage of welfare and foodstamps. They lived better than my LEGAL immigrant parents and my siblings and I. Much better.
Today we're fighting a war on two fronts and not exactly losing, but not doing any ass-kicking either. Oh yeah; and we're paying billions per year for oil and those same nations who are raiding our coffers are the SAME nations whose asses we saved not too long ago. What's wrong with this picture?
Ask yourself that.

Nope. Nothing in this world is free. What should be happening is sticking to "good business" or "the gentlemen's code" or however you want to paraphrase "You took care of me so I will take care of you...it's the right thing to do."
The problem is NOT that "they don't understand that." "They" do. Believe me, they do. The problem is that nobody (I.E. the USA) holds them ACCOUNTABLE for not sticking to that.
I drive to work just like everyone else. But if there was no gas for me to purchase b/c America was boycotting our major suppliers; I would take the bus like everyone else was doing.
We, as a country (thank our elected representatives and big businesses they represent) have continually demonstrated that we have no nuts. Nobody fears us anymore. And that's what it's all about whether you're talking war or oil. Not that there's a difference.

He hit his runner cause he knew more than the other players. It's been discussed since the 90's we would have problems with Fannie and Freddie. It's not new, even Bush's previous Secretary of the Treasury testified before Congress in the early 00's that Fannie and Freddie needed to be brought under control. And we've known deregulation does not work. The government has to watch industries otherwise we'll see the mess like we're seeing now. It's the 2 parties continuing to put their big money coffers ahead of the public good that has lead to this situation.
I think Canada and Saudi Arabia are doing their part for giving us what we want at a reasonable price. So is everybody else, oil, cars, electronics, cocaine, mail-order-brides, etc. As long as Americans are happy to spend money as if there is no tomorrow, we are just going to be poorer. And the idea of making money as fast as possible and then get the hell out of Dodge is just typical greed that has gotten us in trouble in the first place.
