I just finished reading the preview in April's Xbox mag and this game looks awesome. It sounds like a cross between GTA3 (except your a cop), Max Payne, and maybe a little Dead to Rights.
They recreated L.A. from satellite images, geographical maps, pictures and videos. It's 300 square miles of real-time driving around if you want to explore it all. They say if you know your way around LA, you'd know your way around the game :Q
-It has the driving elements from GTA3 since you can jump out of your car at any time and take another one, except you're a cop so you can get away with a lot more I'd assume.
-It has a shooting system similar to May Payne apparently
-It also has a fighting system with combos and other skills that you can purchase/learn as you earn points.
-Has some RPG elements. As you drive around to complete the main missions there is endless (randomly generated) side crimes going on that you can go do at any time to get more points/cash which can be used to purchase new things and new skills
-Voice talents from people such as Gary Oldman :Q
Last but not least it supports both 480p and 720p resolutions on the Xbox version in 16:9 widescreen!! That's 720x480 and 1280x720 progressive! With no slowdown on the 720p version either. It's also coming out for PS2 but chances are that'll just be 480i (interlaced).
Supposed to come out this spring sometime.
