52 degrees outside right now in Central Florida. I don't own enough layers and the perfect blue sky and sunshine isn't doing anything. Goodbye world.

I think you missed the point. I was a manly man when I lived in DC. My chest hair weaved together and formed a protective, warming layer. I didn't wear jackets until the 40 degree threshold was broken.

It took about 4 months once we moved back to Florida before I became a big, whimpering baby. I've fully accepted that I now require warmth to comfortably live.

So what you're saying is that you're a girly man now since you can't handle Florida weather?

A couple more weeks here & it'll hit 44 degrees. I expect that half the students in the school will show up wearing shorts & tshirts.

It was 27 this morning and I had to run 4.25 miles at 0630 (coldest part of the day)

You will be fine.

It's about 50F here right now...this really sucks. After going from NC to Chicago and now to the Bay Area, I am now 100% pussified against hot and cold weather. :(

Thought you meant a recent trip.

Nah, I'll probably be back in Julyish.

If I have time and as a gesture of goodwill, I'll drop off a cooler of proper BBQ as I make my way across the deprived state of SC. Poor, starving, South Carolinians. :(

Among South Carolina's adults age 18 and over 1

  • 66.9% of adults were overweight, with a Body Mass Index of 25 or greater
  • 31.5% of adults were obese, with a Body Mass Index of 30 or greater
How about some nice Cali fruits and veggies?

From the snowy wastelands of northern Pennsylvania, my frozen heart bleeds for you.

See, the problem with houses in Florida, particularly in the southern half of the state, is that they are essentially tombs. Concrete block homes with no insulation in the block. Meant to keep houses cool during the 11 month summer. Get that temp below 60 or so, and you feel cold as shit. And then you have a strip heater in your AC vent that pretty much turns a pretty orange color, smells like ass the first time you turn it on in over a year, and does absolutely nothing in terms of heat. 50's and 40's can be a bitch especially if the inside of your house never gets above 60. 60 sounds comfortable, but try it in a CBS house. It sucks.

Peace

44 degrees, fahrenheit? At least it's not Celsius, that would be brutally hot. That comes up to 7C. Barely even need a coat, especially if doing some light physical activity. Would be a nice temp to go for a walk or bike ride actually. Maybe a little cool for shorts but not too bad if biking.
