So wifey and I are watching the superbowl, and she suddenly says "honey, I think we should get a wii."

. . . .

I almost fell out of my chair stone cold dead right there. My wife HATES that I play video games, so I never thought that she would actually want another game system in the house.

But being the accomodating husband I am, I didn't argue and said I would look into it.

So, are there any good wii bundles/deals floating around? I'll admit and say that I am too lazy to look them up myself. I think the wife wants wii fit plus (not that she needs it).

Thanks in advance.

Because there are no "Wii bundles". Buy a Wii, buy some games, buy some accessories. Any "Wii bundles" are just games sold along with the Wii with no discount on the "bundle".

If you don't need one immediately, I might wait a month or so. I think an announcement for new Wii hardware is going to be made soon, but who knows when it will actually be released. I was poking around yesterday and read somewhere that a Nintendo exec (Miyamoto, maybe, I can't remember) accidently let slip that a new Wii is in the works.

I've been slightly curious because I've noticed that the B&Ms around my house have been either sold out or have really low stock, which I think is kind of unusual. Even if stock took a hit from the holiday season, it should have recovered by now. Amazon is out of stock too, and it has been in stock at Amazon throughout the holiday season, IIRC.

Getting a Wii won't convince her that video games are worthwhile. It'll sit in a closet gathering dust within a month, and she'll be left just as confused about why you like video games as she is now (if not more so).

I got a Wii, 2 controller w/ nunchucks, Metroid 3, Smash Brothers, Zelda, Wii Play, and Sports, along with some nice downloaded games (Mario 3, Mario World, Zelda: Ocarina, StarFox64, Dr Robotnik, and Super Metroid), along with a wireless sensor bar for $275 on Craiglist.

Beware eBay, the Wii scam is heavy there. People bidding up their own weak auctions to make it look like demand is huge for Wiis is very common there.

This may be true for you, but certainly does not apply to everyone. My wife and girls still use our Wii at least a few times per week and we have owned it for well over a year.

How do you know his wife will think this? Your experiences automatically apply to everyone else?

The Wii is the only system my mother will play. I was shocked...and she is addicted to it. Loves playing Wii Resort. She can bowl the hell out of that game.

Costco usually sells consoles as bundles, not sure what's in their Wii bundle.

What a crappy bundle on Amazon. $300 if you just bought the Wii and Wii Play. Seems most of the bundles on there are overpriced.
