Good webhosting provider...

Alright folks,

What is everyones recommended webhosting provider? I currently have HostNexus and it's simply not reliable whatsoever. Suffered a data loss recently, long wait time, I can hardly access my email, etc. It simply sucks.

So, I'm looking for something new, fairly basic within the $10-12 a month range.

Thanks for your input!

Peace,

Dave

host it yourself, you will learn heaps, when it goes down 99% of the time it is your fault, you can more easily edit and backup, and no limit on transfers or hits, subdomains, email addresses etc
just my $0.02

Just search for web hosting and you will find lots of topics. RossMan has lots of good suggestions.

I use Hostway.com. Not the cheapest (though not terribly expensive) host, but they're very reliable and technical support (by phone) is great from my experience.

Would the limitation on transfer be the upload speed of your connection?

Telnap has been very reliable for me. I think it's RossMan approved, too.

I've got some hosting with Telnap also. Excellent service, always responds to my questions on MSN or email quickly.

Also if ya host it yourself on your home PC it will be limited to your connections speed, and your pc would need to be up all the time also.

http://www.sonataweb.net/ uses cpanel and is a great webhost

I would not host it yourself. It will be too slow and just as unreliable pretty much.

Excellent and they have a nice $10.95/mo package where you can host multiple domains with generous disk space/bandwidth
