ok guys..

here is the REAL way..

u know how u can hear a very high frequency inside your head, when there is a quiet surrounding.
Concentrate only on that, and you will fall asleep in minutes.

trust me, it works like a dream.

and u get a really good deep sleep from it too :)

I usally go to sleep watching a movie that I have seen quite alot so I can just listen to it and know whats going on. Sooner or later I am asleep.

Which is what I am gonna do now.

Good Night to you all!

For me, I will normally watch tv or a movie until I fall asleep. Sleep timers are pretty good. :) Music on low volume works for me. Has to be low b/c with headphones for me, it can get too loud. Music that works for me: Miles Davis - Kind of Blue, most Dave Matthews Band songs, Pink Floyd - Dark Side of the Moon...except for Time...it's jolted me awake once or twice :) If that fails, I smoke a little then watch a movie or listen to music...works great :)

late.

I listen to Radiohead KidA the first song knocks me out if I am remotly tired... trick is to not turn it on till you are in your bed, lights off, and then wait about 3 mintues-- turn it on real low... then face away from the stereo.
g-night!

If you take long naps during the day, stop. Only take short ones. Also, try sleeping on your back (works for me). And maybe drink a beer an hour before you want to go to bed. Alcohol always makes you tired. Hope some of these ideas help. :)

Pick up a book on hypnosis. I've managed to put myself into a deep sleep and tell myself I'll wake up feeling like I had a full night of sleep, when in fact I've only gotten a few hours.

Read a book with only a Night-stand light on. That puts me to sleep in no time!

the two things that work best for me are:

Reading a book
Taking Benadryl. Benadryl is great because it helps with my allergies at night and also makes me drowsy.

1st of all, get the hell away from the computer. Nothing creates insomnia like spending too much time staring at a monitor.

2nd read a book for a while to let your mind slow down.

3rd play some relaxing music

4th get the room as dark as possible.

then take a pill, masturbate and count sheep.

Exercise, Exercise, Exercise!

On the nights I play hockey, I find no problem going to sleep when I get home. Everyone has a sleepless night now and again. Here is what I do.

If I am not asleep in 30 minutes from the time when I hit the bed, I usually get up and go read email, read a book, play a game, etc. After 30 minutes of that, I go back to bed.

What is that high pitched noise we hear anyways? I hear it many times when I'm in silence, and have always wanted to know what causes that.

Sometimes, theres no sense in fighting it. Just get up and do something productive that may lessen your next days load. Then nap during the day for an few hours and it all evens out. Been there done that.

<< Yeah my comp is right next to my bed and I have it play an hours worth of mp3s and I am always asleep before it finishes. I can actually tell what time I went to sleep, cause I can go back and think of what songs I remember hearing before I went to sleep, it's kinda cool. >>

If you know you absolutly NEED sleep for a long day that you can't make up, then I suggest the above.

improve your sleep hygene, goto sleep at the same time and get up at the same time everynight.

try some drugs, Ambien and sonata are the best, they are out of your system in a few hours so you aren't tired in the AM I like sonata better.

if you keep having problems go seee a doctor. not a GP but a sleep specialist
