I was just wondering if any of you guys knew a good, free video compression software that I could use to keep a video file I have under 100MB so I can upload it onto a website. Many thanks in advanced who anyone who replies.

haven't tried it myself but Super is supposed to be quite good and freeware (or if you are converting from DVD, go for Fairuse)

Guide
Changes to the guide that I've found to help with quality:
Check Adaptive Quantization
Uncheck Packed Bitstream
Set VHQ Mode to 4
Check Use VHQ for B-frames oo
Check Use Chrome Motion

I set the I-frame interval to 30 generally, but that's for files where quality is paramount. You can set it higher.

Enable Chroma Optimizer
Set BVOP sensitivity to 5-10.

With all those settings, it might not encode quickly, but it should get the most quality out of the given space.

How do I split the video? In order to upload what I want to Youtube, I need to keep the file under 100MB/10 Minutes. The video is 21 minutes long, and so I need to figure out a way to split it down the middle.
