I want one, but cannot think of a good reason. What do you all do with them?

I don't travel much and have two PCs at home.

Play games, all the way up to DC Final runs great. Anything more needy then that can't do it.

Check e-mail, surf... Use wireless connection to lay in bed and buy shite.......

my laptop is my primary computer, will be secondary when i build a new pc later this year

its really helpful on vacations . . . i dont like to buy tons of memory cards and if i have a 4 megapixel camera, i wanna shoot 4 megapixels

so i use the laptop as a picture storer and so, my 256MB SD card goes a long way! :D

Back in college my laptop was indispensible. Took it with me to the library whenever I have to write papers, so I can type the info straight into the laptop rather than having to photocopy the research journal articles at the library stacks.

It was good for presentations too-- Hook it up to the Proxima projectors available in the classrooms or from the A/V department and let the ol' Powerpoint presentations rip.

Then came WiFi... Surf anywhere there is a hotspot without having to wait for a free terminal at the library.

The day is coming I think when no college student can make it without a laptop.

Laptops are almost a must for college. Also, mine comes in handy when I don't want to get out of bed and walk the two feet to my desktop.
