Looking to buy a new television within the next few months, and was wondering on what would be the best to get.

I'm looking for around a 27" TV, and am thinking about the Sony Trinitron televisions. I would really like to have S-Video input, as well as a couple more video and audio in's. And yeah, some of you will definitely say the WEGA TV's, but can't afford those, even though those are sweet.

Any other brands good??

My friend has a "V" series 27" from Sony. It has Svideo in and out plus quite a few audio and video in's plus audio out and video in from teh front panel.

About 500 bucks retail can get it for 400 if you look.

Got a Toshiba, a Mitsubishi and a Sony.

Flat is where its at. Like em all but the Sony is best, Mitsubishi next and close, personal preference here, I think. None to sneeze at but if $ are a concern look at the Toshiba or take a smaller Sony (27" min)

If you are going home theater, you can get a model with less bells and whistles but just as good a picture and enhanse the sound.

JVC 27" AV27D201

I heard good things (from one or two owners of that TV) about this TV. I also went to Best Buy to check it out and it was without a doubt brighter and crisper looking than the Panasonic CT27D10 and the Toshiba 27A50. It has component video and the speakers seem to be above average for a TV. The price is right too. :)

That is the TV that I am probably getting.

If you buy using MS Passport, you can save 20% (up to $500) at 800.com (as well as other stores).

Check MSN.com for some more details.

Good luck.

I also have a 27" Toshiba with component video in. I got it for a very reasonable price, and when I use it with my Toshiba DVD with component video out, I get a razor-sharp picture. Has PIP, too, as well as a V-Chip (like I need that, but whatever).

That JVC looks like a nice TV. I have been passively shopping for one since my 20" Zenith that I had in my bedroom crapped out a few months ago.

Sony KV-27V42 has all the inputs that you wanted. Those are getting rare these days!

We snagged our Sony at Best Buy as an "open box" for quite a good savings. You might want to check there after Christmas when there have been a few returns.

Zippy and others - Read This: 800.Com is offering 10% off on their big screen TVs through November 22nd. Plus, you can get 20 free Blockbuster coupons (Rent 1, get a free rental). Add this to the 20% passport deal and you can come up with the following:

32" Wega - $750 (Delivered) - This is the non Picture in Picture model.
36" Toshiba 36A50 $680 (Delivered) - Component input, etc.
32" Toshiba 32A60 $535 (Delivered) - Component input, etc.
32" Toshiba (clearance model) $499 (Delivered) - Component input, etc.

These are some sweet prices ... WJE is licking his lips. I doubt that you'd ever find the 32" Wega for less than this price anywhere else - and delivered at that!

To sweeten the deal, look around for those $20 off incentives from 800.Com.
