Good travel sites?

Anyone know of any good travel sites that are better then Orbitz or Sidestep for finding hotel pricing and info, possibly comments, costs of train fare, etc. Flights would be a plus.

I've searched a round but most of them are crap.

I need to get rough estimates of pricing for a research project proposal I'm working on.

Also Lonely Planet's Thorn Tree forums can be good for the latest on border crossings, political situations, transport options, etc. as well as opinions on what to see and do.

Try vayama.com or skyscanner.com for flights.

Tripadvisor is my favorite for hotel reviews/pricing, etc.
