Bush's Actions were a very large part of the Oil prices back then. At least for the most part. Towards the end of his Presidency Demand from China/Others began to overtake the initial uncertainties caused by the Iraq War.
 
Speculators drove oil before, and more so now.

Investment banks have 100s of billions of other people's money to invest somewhere. Now that they have broken the housing market, they direct more of it to commodities.

Without regulation and transparency, they'll break that market too. And all the while, they'll make trillions in fees just moving other people's money around, producing nothing of value.

Really? You haven't seen the posts during GW's term in office? There was nothing but complete hatred and vile thrown at him on these boards. Every time he took a day off or did something recreational, it was posted about here.

Maybe you really are new here. I have been lurking for 8 years and finally decided to create an account awhile ago. I remember reading it all...and to be honest, most of it was right. Bush was a boob.

But now Obama is in office. Are you equating the two? It sounds like it by saying "This guy did it, so can Obama".

Alright, if I read you wrong, I do apologize. I did answer your question though. There was plenty of disdain for Bush when he did it. So, I see it as par for the course when people show the same disdain for this president taking vacations during times of crisis (ours or the world's). So, why not be concerned when President Obama is doing this as well?

For those who were "slighted" during the Bush bashing years - go nuts.

If Obama and Bush get together with one another in a secret base every weekend and eat bags of kittens; I won't care.

I just want some leadership, that does not invovle invading other countries and using the fear of terrorism to control it's people. When it's personal time, do what you have to do.
