I thought Doom 3 was an excellent game. I still enjoy playing it to this day. But I have to be in the right mood for it... WHen I just want to mindlessly slaughter zombies and make big gooey piles of biohazardous alien leftovers, nothing does the job better than Doom 3.

Now Prey... talk about a game that pissed me off. Sure, the graphics were nice but when you die enough times and have to keep doing that B.S. spirit world death thing, it totally kills the game. The demo was awesome but they smartly cut the demo short right before the game turned stupid. I'm not surprised it only took 45 days for it's price to go from 49.99 to 19.99.

FEAR... way too repetitive, but more annoying was their over-use of military terminology. It's like they took the military dictionary, and dared themselves to see how many of the words they could cram into each sentence. Talk about over-realism. Of the three... Prey and FEAR sit on my shelf gathering dust after 6 months; Doom 3 gets played even after several years (as does Quake 4).

I really liked Condemned, but you probably have to be a fan of melee weapons to enjoy playing that game as it's definitely NOT a "blow everything up" shooter a la Serious Sam or Doom. But, like System Shock 2, the atmosphere was dark and VERY creepy at times.

I thought Prey was pretty good. It actually kept me interested enough to finish the game in about 2 weeks. I've had FEAR and FarCry installed for so long I stopped counting, and I still haven't finished those games. Even HL2 took me several months to beat because I'd just get bored with it. I want more games like NOLF or Max Payne, those games I couldn't keep myself away from.

I agree with you on Prey's awesome graphics apoppin. Same with Q4. Both games were better, too. Prey freakin rocked, and Q4 as always had sweet multiplayer.

uhhh... I just played the expansion.

I died 3 times in the first 2 minutes becuase the game was so damn dark I fell off ledges.
I ended up cheating just to beat the game. The ending is about 10 seconds.... what a waste.
The story interests me but there was soooo little. The original doom had more story
