Good time to trade up?

I have a BFG 9800GTX card and as you know BFG offers a trade up program. With the new cards on the market is it reasonable to expect the MSRP of the existinig cards to drop? or will the new cards simply have the same MSRP as the old ones?

Old MSRP almost never drops, for exactly this reason. They want to make sure you don't get a card for $200 and then trade it in three months later at no cost for a card that was $300 when you bought the original card.

The only real benefit from being able to "trade up" is access to cards that may not have launched when you bought your card. Such as, if you bought a 9800GTX a week before the GTX 260/280 launched.
