So.. wouldn't that make it a good time to *sell* AMD stock, therefore *not* owning it?

AMD previously said processor sales were good and flash memory sales were flat or slightly up - so profits should be decent. Today they announced flash sales were down and there would be a significant drop in profits (probably a significant loss). They will announce the real results in a few days I think. It was just a warning released today.Originally posted by: blackdogdeek
why the big drop? did they announce something?

The market is in a slide so far in 2005. It's probably going to dip for a little bit then rebound soon. The economy still has not fully recovered yet. I don't think this is a very good time to sell anything except stocks that have done exceptionally exceptionally well and are now overpriced.

You may lose a bit in the short, but by year end it should turn around.
