Good Tequila?

I consider Cuervo the baseline. If it's Cuervo or better, I'll drink it.
I really like Bacardi Ciclon, rum with tequila & lime flavors.

Sauza is very nice. Never had a problem with Quervo. Mezcal is smokey and rough.

Mezcal is supposed to taste smokey (it isn't actually tequila). The agave is cooked over oak logs.

Looks like I'll try Patron and Cabo (and Cazadores). A few people mentioned Cazadores in other threads on here.

Any other not to be missed Don Julioish high quality stuff?

BTW, the different types (Anejo, Repasado, etc) are explained in the link in the OP, under 'Types of Tequilas'.

this is true with me also, Cuervo is best for shots tho
gotta go with Patron & Cabo wabo for sipping

My favorites: Herradura, Corazon, and Don Julio. Patron is overpriced in my opinion, but as stated, that's just my opinion.

Reposado and Blanco usually end up being the same price, so I'll go with white if I have a choice. Anejo is definitely the way to go if you can afford it, though.

Edit: as far as salt and lime go, I've tried with and without, and the salt and lime just enhances the flavor in my opinion. That little "kick" you get right afterwards (i.e. the aftertaste) is like no other. Herradura actually isn't bad to sip chilled, but I still prefer shot form for all my liquor.

Cazadores is good. But for the goods, then Don Julio, Tres Generaciones, Patron, Herradura and Cabo Wabo are the way to go.

there is no such thing as good tequila. tequila is the devil.

now pass the whiskey. 🙂
Isn't that a thread crap? 😉

yup and you just stepped in it. Honestly try whiskey or burbon much better for sipping than TQ.

I highly recommend the Cazadores. I like it so much I've made it my standard. Personally I like it even more than Cabo Wabo, and yes I've had plenty of both. Def give Patron a try, but I'll shoot you if you mix with it.

I stick with reposado and anejo, smoother.

Why would you go with Blanco over Reposado if they would be the same price? Especially since you prefer Anejo. Reposado is closer to Anejo than Blanco.

Surely you know 🙂 and 😉 means it's a joke. Are you being an ass?
BTW, I've drunk plenty of whiskey, thanks. I like whiskey. I like tequila. Some people [gasp] drink both.

Thanks. No, I won't mix the high end stuff. I shoot Don Julio straight, no chaser. I mix Sauza with OJ every now and then; something I got hooked on in Cancun.

I usually stick with my main man Pepe Lopez 😉
Ah, forgot about him. I've had it. But too long ago to remember what it's like. That's the one with the worm right?

I hooked up with two new friends today and we're gonna hang out this weekend. They're relatives to some other friends I know. Here is a pic of them hanging out in front of the other friends I know.

BTW, the Don Julio and Corralejo I brought back from Mexico. Didn't like the Corralejo - far from smooth.

Saving the Cazadores for another night, but the Patron is excelente! It's been awhile since I had Don Julio to better compare, but the Patron seems to taste very similar, if not better.

Hah! Workin on it! I don't go overboard though. I'm older and way past that stage. 😉

Patron es la shizñite'.

 😕 😀

I'm not too fond of Cazadores as it has on odd taste to me; I prefer Don Julio or Patron and Herradura Añejo is pretty good as well. If they still make it and you can find it, El Tesoro Añejo is also a very good tequila that's aged in old whiskey barrels. There was a tequila called Porfidio Añejo Extra which I liked above all else and dubbed it a breakfast tequila; unfortunately they no longer make it and I haven't yet found anything to replace it. Link

As for which type of tequila to get, that's pretty much up to you. I prefer Añejos over Reposados; Añejos offer a dryer flavor while the Reposados are more robust. A very good Reposado is Centenario or even Jose Cuervo Tradicional (not the Jose Cuervo Gold which is a Joven tequila).
