Ellen Allien
Brian Eno
Stars of the Lid

Ok, well what about some of the upbeat techno stuff? I think Sandstorm is a great song, and there are a couple other songs more upbeat like that, that I like. Im just not really into this overly repetitive beat. I dunno, Im just d/ling random songs by these people, and most of them aren't very good.

honest to god you learn to love it. ya its repetitive compared to like the newist rap or rock album. really they are good and in the beginning you get caught up in the 'tricks' of songs like sandstorm but most 'beat-heads' worth their salt arnt fooled by sandstorm. go listen to Global Undergroud(any set really), while to the new booty it sounds like crap, the ones that have been around the scene longer understand it more and hence like it more.

if you like sandstorm you'll like things like DJ Dean and Tunnel Trance Force(which i personally cant stand... bunch of lsd induced germans i tell you)

and if anybody likes Daft Punk check out Basment Jaxxs. also look for the daft punk essential mix.

Armin van Buuren
Ferry Corsten
Paul Oakenfold
Paul van Dyk
Signum
Thrillseekers

A few recent favorites:
Kota - Waiting (12" Vocal Remix)
Kota - Waiting (Van Gelder remix)
Riva - Time is the Healer (Armin Van Buuren remix)
unkown source - Nadjanema
Armin Van Buuren - Burned With Desire (Rising Star Radio Edit)

I should get better lists here but i'm lazy.

EDIT:

This guy's list is

Andain-Beautiful Things (Gabriel & Dresden Unplugged Mix)
Oceanlab feat Justine Suissa - Satellite (Above & Beyond Mix)
Ernesto vs Bastian- The Darkside of the Moon (ASOT 157 Rip)
Mark Norman- Phantom Manor
DJ Tiesto - Love Comes Again
DJ Tiesto - Adagio for Strings
DJ Tiesto - Traffic
Motorcycle- As The Rush Comes <----been listening to it for 7+ months, never gonna get old

I'm off to get the one there that I don't have.

My favorite artist(s) has been changed to Gabriel & Dresden...these two have made such quality remixes that they send shivers down my spine everytime I hear their stuff. A fairly new track people should check out is Interstate- I Found U...great chillout tune.

i dont get techno... its boring and annoying...

You just feel that way because you haven't yet heard the good stuff.

i think its more along the lines of him not being able to apperciate music

Hmmm dont know if it qualifies, but Concord Dawn, Pendulum, Black Sun Empire, they are all really good live DnB acts.

Whatever you do, don't listen to Sampson. 😛

Trance is by far the most popular form of electronica for good reason 😉

I have too many favorite trance tracks to list...

One thing to make clear here though...techno is nothing like trance.

I'm not sure the OP meant "techno"...i think he meant electronica in general...& when that gets asked, most people will mention trance.
