Been doing CrossFit now for aobut 6 weeks and have dropped 20lbs. From the looks of things (body) and how much more I can lift/workout today vs. when I started, some xformation (lean muscle gained/fat lost) has happened as well.
I'm at the point where I am ready to take on the next challenge and that is diet. Upon reading what fits me best, it is a combination of Zone and Paleo but I'm going to go Zone fully first to get the portion control learned and then Paleo to supplement with quality.
My biggest thing right now is getting meals together that I would enjoy. I'm a "meat and potatoes" guy through and through. From what I have read up on and come to conclude is that I will need 5-block breakfast/lunch/dinner and 2 2-block snacks throughout the day. I'm good with the breakfast, lunches, and snacks...it's the dinners that's getting me.
Anyone have any good recipes/suggestions for 5-block meals I can use for lunches or dinners?
What I've got so far:
Beef stew recipe (any other alternate recipes welcomed)
- olive oil, onion, green pepper, beef (cubed or ground)
- chopped zucchini and mushrooms
- tomato sauce, garlic, worcestire sauce, salt, pepper
- fresh strawberries for desert
Chili recipe (any other alternate recipes welcomed)
- chopped onion & green pepper sauteed with garlic, cumin, chili powder, salt, pepper
- ground beef, browned
- tomato sauce
- black & kidney beans
- add fresh cilantro to taste
Taco dinner
Grilled chicken salad
Deli sandwich (for those nights that something quick/easy is needed)
Any other good suggestions for Zone meals?
