I currently have a sb-live x-gamer. I'm using Cambridge Sondworks with 2 satellites and some weak subwoofer. I hear about the Creative fps2000 4 point surround, but the satellites look like mine. Are those speakers better than mine and how much better is the entire setup of 4 speakers vs 2?

Recommendations for 4 speakers will be greatly appreciated! thanks ahead of time! (Around 120 dollars)

Nothing :) hehe.

I would have to say 4 speaker is a lot nicer than two, it just fills the room more. It also helps to have that 160w sub :)

The FPS2k's are nice cause they can hook up to the sblive digitally, which is the one thing missing from the klipschs :(

Another 4.1 setup I think that gets high ranks is the acs54's (those are it, right? someone double check me).

I've got my DJing system hooked up to my SBLive!, it's the best sound system for a computer I have ever heard. It also costs like 5 times as much ;)

I got some Cambridge Soundworks DTT2500, the ones you mention that come with 4 speakers that look like yours, but they come with....hold on to your seats....FIVE speakers and a subwoofer =) ...and the two tripod stands are sweet...have the center on my monitor, the two fronts to each side, and the two rears in the far corners of the room on tripods, which are ear-level....WOW =)

...I would tell you more about them, but the wife is screaming for me to turn them down =)

Digital sound really makes a huge difference, you should get the Cambridge DTT2500 speakers.

The fps2k's are the same as the soundworks. Atleast the satallites are exactly the same. The subwoofer is however is improved. As for digital sound, you just move the decoding from your soundcard to your speakers. Its not as special as you would think.

I'm a big supporter of the DTT2500s...but you can't get those for under 170-ish...so for around 120, I would go for the FPS2000s...they are week, but so are most computer speakers. From what I have heard they sound pretty good, but if you are going to watch DVDs, you are missing out not getting the Dolby Digital 5.1 DTT2500s.

I mainly listen to music and play few games, lets say I expand my budget to the klipsch limit. Are klipsch the best comp speakers flat out?

for the money, yes.
only things missing: digital sound. (this is debatable - it's VERY difficult to tell the difference between good analog and digital.)
5th speaker (already covered).
i have these babies, i love them to death.

As for the best comp speakers flat out quality wise from what ive read the Videologic Sirrocco Crossfires are the ones to get, but they cost a bit more. They are a 4.1 setup like the klipsch. Planning on getting myself a set soon.
