Good source to find places for rent?

I'm looking for a place to rent in Orange County, CA. Anyone know of a good source to find rental property?

I've tried websites like rent.com and apartments.com

I've had good luck with www.forrent.com

Also, if you can, hit a grocery store in the area you'll be renting and pick up one of the 300+ page rental property book that most cities publish.

Phoenix has two very large rental propery books available for free that you can pick up at grocery stores. I'm sure the O.C. has something similar.

apartment ratings is also pretty usefull. They helped me factor out a lot of places.

not much luck so far, should i try a rental agency? the one in my area is about $100 bucks and if they find you anything, they give you $50 back.
