This has probably been asked a quadtrillion times but please bear with me one more time.

I am planning to get the SK-7 for $20 from SVC Compucycle. Any comments, approval or objection would be appreciated.

It'll do you well. ;) It is one of the best out now and just slightly less effective than the SLK800.

Even the sk6 + is no bad choice, if you use an 80mm fan with it. Most I've tried do fit the sk6+ (not the sk6) .

I upgraded to the SK-7 from the GC-68. Temps are down 5-8 degrees C.

I have been more than happy with both Heatsinks.

i am currently using a SK6 which I am very happy with. I'll probably pass this SK6 to my friend so that I have an excuse to upgrade my heatsink.

For $9.99, the SK6+ is unbeatable for it's price/performance ratio. Since I have the SK6 already, I wouldn't mind spending the extra and try out the SK7.

One more question though, which fan would you guys recommend?

SK-7 is nice :) If you get one, make sure to pull it away from the solid end of the CPU socket so it doesn't ride up on it and not land flat on the CPU core.

One thing I really like is that the heatsink clip can be engaged with my bare hands (and it grips all six lugs too). As for a good fan, the YS Tech adjustable-RPM 80mm or the Panaflo L1A would be a couple suitable ones.

What chip do you have, because I will have the AMD 2700+ and I "hope" the SK-7 will suffice. I never really gave the fan any thought, will this fan do: http://www.svc.com/powcool8031.html

Just a basic case fan, if I had done my homework I would have gotten a TMD fan.... I hope this will work

That will work great! :D The SK-7 should realistically be the last SocketA heatsink you ever (have to) buy.
