Good site to recommend HDTVs?

I'm looking to buy my father an HDTV for Christmas, and I'm trying to find a site that can offer me some recommendations for our price range. Any ideas?

I'm currently looking for some of the same type of info for myself. Two places I've found so far with useful stuff.

CNET.com televisions

AVSForum is much like this site, just for A/V stuff rather than computers.

There's a starting place for you. Good luck.

Yeah with that price range I'd say get a 1080p (1920x1080) native res. Not that anyone is broadcasting in 1080p yet, but it will be worth it in the future. I am very happy with my samsung 46" dlp but it is only 720p (1280x720) native res. It is fine for now, and the best I could afford at the time, but I'd definetly go 1080p native with that price range.

edit: HERE's a link for a 50" samsung dlp ... same as mine, excpet bigger and supports 1080p resolution. very nice, unless you want to hang an lcd or plasma on the wall. I looked at many tvs and the samsung dlp for its price/performance was the best choice imho.
