I see two new single player games out there that look interesting, LOTR2 and Galactic Civ. Anyone try these or recommend anything new in the single player realm that would run good on a laptop for a traveler.

Depending on the power of your laptop, you could try Civ IV - Galactic Civ - Civ III - Alpha Centauri.

Alpha Centauri is a great laptop game. Baldur's Gate II and other games that work well with pausing might be ok as well. Maybe some SNES ROMS too.

Oblivion.
Morrowind.
HL2 if you are into FPS's.
I kind of liked Seige of Avalon also.

Galactic Civ II is really fun, definitely a buy.

Gal Civ II and Oblivion pwns me, even though I only have a couple of hours to play during weekdays.

Galactic Civilizations 2 is a good choice. The demo has been released if you want to try it out first. One nice thing about Gal Civ 2 is the constanat support. They have been putting out patches, or beta patches almost every week.

Specs of lappy? Also StarCraft, Brood War, and all the campaign mods will keep you busy for months. Rise Of Nations is pretty good, single player is like risk with a RTS every invading round. Morrowind is fun... maybe GTA: San Andres for pc?
