looking for some decent headphones for general computer use (games, music, dvds) and an mp3 player. i really like the ones that go behind your head. i cant afford anything more than a $100, so i was wondering if anybody had any recomendations for the best i can get at around $50, maybe a bit more.
thanks

www.sennheiser.com - best headphones money can buy
And that "behind the head" headphones aren't that great. They usualy squeeze your head too much and that becomes painfull if you use them for more than an hour...

Sure's E3C's can be had for 115$ and are a good deal better than the E2c's from what I have heard.

Another vote for the 280s, unless you have a big head.. mine's medium-big and they live up to their tight-fitting reputation for me, I can only imagine for those people with really big heads... If you can spend a bit extra, I'd recommend the Sennheiser 595s, phenomenal sound quality without the need for an amp and a great fit.

I would recommend Bose Triport Headphones.
I use them and they have a very good sound, they are extremely comfortable, they are light weight, sharp and clear treble and very good bass (speciall for their relatively small size).
I think you can get them for 120-130$ new off ebay.

look those up, they seemed ok, but then it said they folded. from past experiences, folding headphones are both uncomfortable and flimsy. do you have any of your own? are they durable and/or comfortable?

some of the other ones mentioned are nice, but their too expensive. i dont want to spend over a $100, preferably around $50.

i have Altec-Lansing's with the built on mic. i think i paid less than $50 at bestbuy. my stepson plays on line games a lot and he is going to get a pair for himself. the only bad thing i can say is that they seem a little warm after a couple of hours

no, i dont own a set. many fellow head-fiers seem to be in love with them, and their comments and advice have been pretty much on spot with every headphone gear investment i made totalling over 1.5 grand so far. px-100s are often comoared to much more expensive grado sr-225 btw.

That's like saying you won't buy a decent bicycle because the cheap ones you buy all fall apart.

I'm the same way... I HATE ear-buds. They ALL make my ears hurt.... but then I tried a decent pair of $70 Sony's and $100 Shure's and realized that SOUND QUALITY is NOT the only feature to shop for when it comes to ear-buds. A decent set DO NOT hurt even if they're in your ears for a long time.
