Looking for some good self-taught piano lessons - online, DVD, whatever. I took them as a kid and would like to get back into them, but my work schedule doesn't allow me to make any kind of commitment to music-shop classes. I have an electronic keyboard setup in my basement to practice. I've been using Next Level Guitar for guitar lessons, which are really awesome, but haven't been able to find anything like that for piano. Mostly just been poking around on Youtube, but nothing structured to follow.

Also, singing lessons would be cool. Looked at Ken Tamplin etc.

You arent going to learn anything serious from methods like that. I was self taught for 3 years before I started lessons in HS, Im in college now and I can tell you that the lessons have made me 200% better. You don't have just one day to give to a 30 minute piano lesson by a teacher?

I have a BA and a MA from Juilliard. Yes you can learn a lot on your own. My father was a professional jazz pianist totally self taught and he never learned how to read music.

Go online and find as many instructional programs as you can - play around with them and go with whatever clicks with you. Though I'm a serious piano teacher - I'll say that there are a lot of bad teachers out there.

Happy learning. Enjoy.

I'm the IT guy for 200 people. Schedule can be erratic 😀 So no - can't commit to a 30 minute lesson at regular intervals unfortunately.

Yeah, I remember having a hard time finding a teacher who really had a long-term game plan laid out when I was younger. Interwebs education it is!
