Good sci-fi movie in the future? Humans preferred.

SUCKS

Bought it because of the hype. Couldn't even finish it. Let someone borrow it a week later and told them to keep it. $20 gone and I am happier not having that PSO in my home.

Worth a rental on netflix, I don't see why anyone would actually buy a movie these days.
And I liked it.

A puppy saves the world. How can you not like that?

though not on earth, Star Trek features mostly humans, and is still timeless in awesomeness.

Married with Children. Not really Science and not really Fiction, as it is the destiny of a good portion of those reading this post.

How has Babylon 5 not been mentioned yet?

It had some major flaws, bad acting and writing for a lot of it, but you can't find a more addictive and strangely enough given the flaws mentioned also rewarding Sci-Fi series to watch! Warning though you will want to watch it from the beginning to the end all 5 seasons, because of the single story arc don't start off somewhere in the middle!

Farscape also comes to mind as a great series not mentioned.

UberNeuman's got some really good suggestions, here are some more that I haven't seen mentioned...

Demolition Man
Westworld
Brazil
V for Vendetta
Fahrenheit 451
The Running Man

Only one I can think of that I didn't see mentioned (sorry if I missed it) is Pitch Black. I always like watching that movie. Chronicles of Riddick isn't quite as good, but still fun.

The book of 1984 was great.

Gattaca was OK, The Island was great, Firefly is great.

No way man, Gattaca was FAR deeper of a movie than The Island, not to mention the fact that the premise behind the island makes no sense, clones don't magically remember what the person they were cloned from did their whole life, thats total BS, meanwhile Gattaca is something that WILL deffinitely have to be faced in the future.

You personally know a human clone???

Sure identical twins could be considered clones of each other. That all a clone is with current technology are twins born years apart.

scarlett johansson >> All

Oh yeah, Pitch Black and Chronicles of Riddick as someone else mentioned. Loved both of them, but CoR is a bit more SciFi with a religious cult pwning the universe into submission to their religion of pain. Pitch Black was thoroughly enjoyable.
