Cruzan rum. The authentic stuff, not that flavored yuppie crap they pass off. You may haveto have it ordered, all I can find on the shelf is thecoconut flavored yuppie crap. If you dont see dark Cruzan rum, ask if they can order it.

The bottle looks like this, in the upper left corner. (Its theonly pic I have of my rum, disregard the rest of the stuff)

Click

ye its arder to find, if you cnt find the stuff he linked you shoudl be able to find this just about anywhere

like 40ish for that size bottle

Cruzan Single Barrel Estate is one of my two favorite rums, the other being the Ron Zacapa Centenario 23 (a little more $).

This is a little off base, but you really cant get good rum in the US. Of course the same argument could be made for beer too. But I dont wanna start that debate.

My point is that the good rum can only be found outside, in places like Puerto Rico, St Croix, St Thomas, well heck, just about those tiny little islands.
They all have some neat formula that goes down smoother, cleaner and yet is still about one third the price of the crap we have up here.
My personal favorite is the spiced guavaberry we used to get in St Maarten.

The big problem was finding something you really liked and then figuring out how to get a stash back into the States. Customs can be a real pain.
(Gee, I miss the Navy.)

Some pretty good stuff is imported to the US from the aforementioned places.

Coquito my good man 😀

More or less. Depends on what the family tradition is. We like a strong, high proof rum in ours. Color is oblivious to us. It's going down your throat, not as a centerpiece. We use real coconut milk, & add coco lopez to even out the sweetness. A little egg white too; fresh, not cooked. The rest is some sort of deep family secret. They wont tell me until more people in my family die & I move up the ladder.

I love Coquitos (not the poster..but I'm sure you're a cool dude). Yea..every puerto rican family has their own slight variation of that coquito recipe. Whether its a specific rum or coconut milk. Some nutmeg or cinnamon...sometimes even little coconut chunks blended in. You could also "water" it down with some plain ol' whole milk and turn it into a tasty milkshake. yum..I want some now!
