good RTS games

For more recent games 🙂frown::beer: shad) try Warcraft 3 + expansion, C&C Generals, Age of Empires 3, Warhammer 40K: Dawn of War.

yeah I have the old orignal command & conquer and cc generals around here somewere. I'll have to check out aoe3. I also have civ 3 and 4, are they rts or turn base stratgy or whatever they are?

Turn based, Civ 3 is worthless, i am starting to like Civ 4, however.
That's a little harsh. Civ 4 is apparently superior though. I got the demo...will be waiting for the price to halve on Civ 4.

I heard Earth 2160 is actually pretty good.
The demo was pretty fun. Not enough to make me want to buy it at full price though. Man i guess i'm cheap :Q

another vote for Warhammer 40k: Dawn of War. (plus expansion) Great game.
recently I have been playing Starcraft and Warcraft III over again. (great)
Also, C&C Generals is alot of fun (and cheap)

Darwini is a pretty good and very fun RTS game, though nothing like you're probbably thinking about, (read: Lemmings on crack).

more votes for Warhammer: Dawn of War and Starcraft

easily 2 of the best RTSes in existence, both IMO are way >>>> warcraft3

Command & Conquer
Command & Conquer: Red Alert 1 and 2
Age of Empires II (played the demo of III, liked it)
Total Annihilation

Never played any of the Warcraft games but I hear they're good.

Z (old but it was so much fun)
Total Annihilation (one of the best RTS games ever made, a pioneer of 3D RTS)
Starcraft (almost perfection in an RTS)
Warcraft 2 (lacks the looks but has bucketloads of humour & gameplay, both I think Warcraft 3 lack)
Dark Reign (underrated RTS title)
Dune 2000 (remake of the almighty Dune 2 but with full Mouse support and much better graphics)
Warhamer 40K: Dawn of War (a RTS that showcases a much loved hobby of mine)
