Remember I am a newbie at this. I am looking at putting a new rig together and this is what I am looking at so far. I do mostly gaming with this machine and was wondering what I should get. I play Dark Age of Camelot mostly and some other MMRPG's.

Processor : 2500 amd OEM Unlocked 2003 week 31 $85
MOBO: GA 7N400 Pro2 Gygabyte $115
Memory: vs1gig400 Corsair Value dual 2X512 (3200) $140
Case: Enermax 350 watt $20
H/D: WD 160gb 7200 8mb Existing from old system
Video Card: Gigabyte 9700pro Existing from old system

I already have Case and Memory. Just bought board and CPU but could return if needed but I like the Barton 2500 for price/power.

My current rig is

Processor: 2200+ xp Th
MOBO: DFI AD77 infinity
Memeory: 1 gig oem 3200 Not sure of manufacturer
Case: Enermax 350Watt
H/D: WD 160gb 7200 8mb
Video Card: Gigabyte 9700pro

.

Current board has had issues with my VC even with the latest drivers and bios flash for 9700.

I have about $100 maybe another $200 dollars to put into it but was wondering if I am on the right path?
Maybe get a raptor drive instead of using old drive and put a smaller 60gb 7200 8mb maxtor I have for other than gaming purposes.

Well, that's not the motherboard I would have used, since you could have bought an Abit NF7-S for roughly the same money. But since you already have the Gigabyte, see how it works out for you. I would be a bit worried about the power supply, but, assuming it works, who cares...;)

I have a non name brand PSU that says recommended for amd's but it is also 350 watts and the barton 2500+ I have runs rock stable at 3200+ or 2.2ghz with 1.65v of vcore....My 3.3 and5v rails are very tight at load...

OK Upgrade PS. How high should I go? Should I just use the case I have and upgrade PS or switch cases entirely?

Also I could go Intel or AMD 64 but for what I have I thought this might be best? Also the board is able to be returned as it is unopened. I just didn't know to go with a Raptor drive or maybe switch to the 64? I am stuck with the Memeory but I could offer that out to Ebay. So I have about 500 give or take to build a system that includes the 9700 pro and either sell the Corsair or use it?

Its about quality not quantity on the PSU. A GOOD 350 will do you fine. Enermax and Antec are my favorites. The mian problem i have with no name PSUs is they often die after 6 months or so, so I never suggest them.

Duvie, anything's possible, but the chances of a POS psu being able to push a P42.4C to 3.5ghz are nowhere near as good as a 2.4C hitting that speed. In other words, you're just a lucky SOB!;)
