I've got an older style GF2 GTS (Asus 7700 Deluxe) in a box for the 'rents, and the fan's bearings are starting to go on it. It's got what looks like a Crystal Orb-style variety of cooler on it.

I was wondering what a good replacement for it would be, and checking the possibility that it could possibly be passively cooled as well. Aside from a 3d screensaver (Helios rules ) the vast variety of what it's used for is email and (yes, I know...<shudder>) flash games via AOL, it's not being pushed especially heavily.

It's paired up with an Asrock K7S41GX+ XP 1800+ (Palomino core) and little else that's pushing an older Sparkle FSP 300W PSU.

Thanks!

I was going to say to just put a crystal orb or a blue orb on it.

BUT!

For the price, it might be worth it to buy a new video card? Look around.

Good luck :)

I'm not really looking at spending a great deal of money on it, if it's just a hsf, fine...Slapping in something like a 6800GS or similar is going to be overkill.

I want to make sure that if it's something like a crystal/blue orb or the like, it's going to fit ok.
