good remote pc software?

i'm looking for somekind of software that i use to control one pc from another.geting my aunt a new pc for her birthday,and she's never used a pc before,plus she lives a few states away from me.i'm hoping to find something i can use to get access to her pc and check/fix any probs she might have,anyone know any good titles?

Most of the VNC programs will work, but you'll have to be running the server on her computer so you could connect as a client. I use UltraVNC to connect to my home PC while at work, and it works well.

If both systems are running XP, you might try Remote Desktop.

VNC works fine, considering that it's free.

one potential problem is that you have to know the IP address
of her computer to connect to it. if it's dynamic you'll
have to walk her through finding it for you over the phone - ouch!

Just setup an account with DynDNS and then run something like Direct Update so that you can always get to her computer with an ip of something like http://youraunt.dyndns.org:5806 ...

I also like Remotely Anywhere, but it's not free.

In refrance of the dynamic IP, if you know how you could create a batch file she can run which will simply load command prompt and use the ipconfig command. If you were to e-mail her teh batch file with simple instructions it should be easy enough for just about anyone to use
