im sure the pros of taking a showers outweigh the cons of a brief exposure to vinyl smell

I have always hated that new plastic/vinyl stink.

I have been using a cloth shower curtain, for almost 10 years;
and I wash it as needed,
{normally about 2-3 times a year}.

For most of my life I had no "shower" and had to take a bath.

The only good reason I can think of not to shower is if, say, Scarlett Johannsen licked my entire body and I wanted to keep her saliva one with my body forever. Otheriwse I'm showering every day, toxic shower curtain be damned!.

My shower doesn't have a door or curtain. It's just made in an L shape.

Remember the vinyl products recalled from Wal-Mart. They contained lead, it's something used in the manufacturing process. Of course they were from China.

I used to cut up vinyl and hammer steaks through it to flatten cuts of meat for certain recipes. Like pork cutlets flattened and fried like veal.

I'll take a guess it's because of pthalates and other VOC's again.

.....and the article confirms this. Surprise, surprise.

"New car smell" is another of those things - it's a result of various toxic compounds evaporating from components of the car.

Other than that, the article in the "Health" section amuses me.
A picture of a woman in a bikini, and a caption, "Vitamin D: Boning up on the sunshine vitamin."
Tee hee.

I bought a new curtain from Target the other day. It had such a strong odor upstairs for two days that it was unbearable to be up there. I got some pretty vicious headaches from it, and I've never had that kind of reaction before.

It passed though. No longer smells.

That, and that white powder shit all over new curtains can't be good for you either.

One of our showers has a door, but the others have curtains.

Yeah, as a kid I used to chew on solder. Long before the "LEAD WILL KILL YOU OR MAKE YOU STUPID!!!!" crap came out. I grew up fine. Right? I'm ok right? AAAAHHH! :)

I also used to play with mercury. Had a big bottle of it and used to pour it in a bowl and play around with it. Drop some on the floor and watch it come back together ala Terminator 2. I am still alive, and doing fine. This country is so paranoid. Man. when I was a kid my toys were made of solid metal! We got cut, we bled, we lived. I have been fishing for over 30 years. EVERYTHING in fishing contains lead, from the obvious lead weights to fishing line to hooks to lures, lead lead lead and I aint dead dead dead. Nor stoopid. :)
