tried the demo, eh not feeling it, cant seem to get any road feel + the road car (the jag) seems to handle surprisingly similar to a rally car and that aint real

Thanks

from what I remember that is a 2004 game
but thing is thats a gt racing game and I mostly like games that have regular cars
at this time my most favourite racing game is nfs hp2, because it has real cars and they tend to handle close to the real cars

Thanks

How about the newer Need for Speed games (Underground 1 & 2)? Tried those? 1 is pretty fun; I find the physics to be pretty realistic, except for the damage modeling (there isn't any). Haven't tried 2.

I loved the first NFS Underground, even though it's more or less an arcade racing game. Underground 2 sucked a$$ -- the physics sucked and they tried to make it too much like GTA3.

I'm currently playing GTR. I'm totally hooked.

It was released April 5 2005 in the States (got into Gamestop about ten days later)
I really recommend this altho it's not really ur cup of tea sounds like. It's really hardcore. What's ironic is I just picked up PS2 and GT4 today and I have to say it was a real shock adjusting to playing on a TV! it's so low-res!!!!! Maybe it'll grow on me ...

Just my 2c. Good luck, keep looking.
BTW this looks promising http://www.rfactor.net/ Again, more the hardcore sim stuff. GTR has corrupted me.

I am majorly turned off by the 'leet tuner yo!' aspects that seem to be emphasized in the NFSU games. Maybe I'm just too old to appreciate them, but I refuse to buy a driving game that seems to be marketed towards people who aren't old enough to drive yet.

The PC driving game market has a big hole in it for me. There are 'simulation' games and there are majorly arcadey games, but nothing in between. I own a PS2 almost exclusively because of GT3. I just couldn't find a PC game that was even CLOSE to comparable to GT3 at the time, so I bought a PS2 to play GT3. Looking at the market now it looks as if little has changed (except we're now comparing GT4/Forza to PC instead of GT3)

Have you looked at Racer? It's a free sim with a large community and literally thousands of quality car and track addons made by them. The physics are fantastic (which means you need a wheel to play this game - not even an analog game pad will work well) and the graphics are really coming along (I would say the latest version looks better than GT4).
