i have a cheap 700w psu... bcoz im going to buy HD7870 id like to buy one good PSU just to be safe..... id like your opinion on xfx 650w pro650w core edition and Corsair Power Suply 700W gs 2013 edition... ( i heard gs700w had probs with fan on previous editions...i hope 2013 is ok)
 
Both PSU's are good.

But the XFX Core Edition PRO should be marginally better due to the componentry used.
 
The XFX is slightly better, but you really don't need 650W for a 7870.

I would suggest Seasonic G-450, Gold efficiency, modular and plenty of power.
 
rozdvd where are you buying from? What's the rest of your hardware, and do you overclock?
 
If you have a 700W PSU, you don't need to change the power supply for the 7870. Even if it is a cheaper version, your total load is going to be so load that you won't be hitting anything close to the limit on that PSU (total system power consumption is probably going to be under 400W even with the 7870).

My PSU that i have now i think its a NONAME...im afraid it will fry my pc and my new gpu ( http://forums.anandtech.com/showthread.php?p=34692281#post34692281 ) im gonna buy soon...

If you don't OC and you just something reliable, look into something around 500W. You won't need a 650W or 700W.

Look into anything that has a Seasonic OEM. Antec ECO 620 is actually a good, cheap unit. There's also Corsair, who uses a lot of Seasonic units.

I have a no-name PSU unit running on 8 years now, and it hasn't fried my PC yet (multiple PCs, actually). I can understand if you don't want to take that risk, but I wouldn't go all out for a high-end PSU either if you're only using those components and you don't OC.
 
From that store I would get XFX Pro 450W or 550W model for your setup, those are Seasonic made. The Corsairs above if you want modular. Those are made by CWT, not quite as good as Seasonic but you won't notice.

The only reason to get a 600W or higher psu is to run 2 graphics cards. That's why the Corsair GS 600W/700W models are nonsense models since they only have 2 pci-e connectors. If you want to have room to upgrade get the XFX 650W model.
