Good PS2 Action RPG's or anything else?

I played Dark Cloud 2 and enjoyed it a bit. What are some other Action RPG's? I ain't a huge fan of turn based. I had to sell my PS2 back about 6 months ago. Is there any killer apps came since then(even non RPG)? Hows Black?

I would say God of War. It's not a traditional RPG, but you are playing a role, and it's definately alot of action.
Another would be Final Fantasy 12, which is coming out this year I believe. Won't be turn based.
Kingdom Hearts is not turn based either, and it's fun.

There are the Baldur's Gate action RPG's for PS2, as well as the Everquest action rpg's.

i havent played them but i hear they're fun

I played God Of War and enjoyed it alot. Is the new Dragon Quest turn based? I could handle a turn based RPG as long as it has a good battle system in it along with nice magic effects.

I've been playing about 30 hours... and it's a good game, but so far I like the original better.

KH2 just seems to rush from story to story and doesn't let you just "explore" until you've finished a world. Half the fun of KH was going around and seeing all the details of the worlds and comparing them to the movies.

DQ8 is turn based, it uses cell shaded graphics which if you enjoy the direction they took are absolutely incredible.

I do happen to be a fan of turn based RPGs, IMO DQ8 is the best game made for the PS2 hands down(it isn't even close really). I probably have about 200 hours into the game total so far, simply incredible. It is very much a turn based old school console style RPG, just the best ever made in that particular genre IMO.

KH1 and KH2 are more action RPG than 1 human could ever hope to attain.

I played black and enjoyed it. Don't expect much from the story.Like others have said God of War is def something to get for 20 dollars. The reason I dont sell my ps2 is because im waiting for God of War 2.
Black is more for the action but its nothign you havent seen before except better physics.
God of War has a lot of action with puzzle solving and a pretty good story.

Yeah I played and beat GOD when it first came out. I will say it is in the top 10 best games I've played.
