Good Program to Backup selected folders

I want a program that automatically backups the folders I select on my C drive to the D drive on a regular basis...like every week or month. Which is the best program to use for this. Thanks.

Not sure if you're looking for something free, but if you're willing to pay a bit, I find SyncBack SE to be a great, straightforward, powerful backup/synchronization tool. Lots of options, but small and focused on what it's supposed to do, doing it very well IMHO. www.2brightsparks.com. There's a free version, but I've never used it. Might suit your needs.

i use syncback, its free
i schedule daily backups for certain directories, its very customizable..

can cobian backup pst files? thats the only limitation of the free syncback for some reason. outlook keeps the pst locked down or something..or its just a built in limitation i'm not sure

When I did my limited research on this, I understood that Outlook kept the pst file locked when Outlook was running. So, if the backup program runs when Outlook is running, the pst file is not backed up.

The workaround is to close Outlook before backing up the pst file.
Cobian let's you run an executable as a part of the backup process. It is explained in the following link how you can do it with Cobian.

Oh, yes!
Cobian let's you choose the output file format like zip compressed format.
So, I do not need any software to access the backups, not even Cobian itself.

I hate it when you use a software for a year and then they upgrade and the next version uses a different file format.
That will never happen with Cobian.
