Good places to visit in the USA?

I am thinking about visiting the USA for a holiday, I would like to see Washington DC to visit all the museums and famous landmarks, or new york, I apparently went to universal studios when i was 4 but i cant remember much. The winchester house sounds interesting. LA sounds scary
Any other ideas?

Depends what you're interested in. The national parks are unmatched anywhere. Rocky Mountain national park is amazing, as is the Grand Canyon.

They don't at all. Seriously, the first time I went to the Grand Canyon it was hard to believe that something that big existed. It was so unbelievable it almost looked fake.

Yeah i was gonna stay away from the red states (i believe thats the term for the wild southern states) I watched the episode of top gear where they drive across the south ... scary place.

There are some places in the French Quarter to stay that are pretty nice. I've stayed at this one once French Market Inn. It's got a huge amount of local flavor to it and its in walking distance to the French Quarter.

And I thought us southerns where the only ignorant people. DC, NYC, LA, Chicago, and a lot of blue states have their fair share of "scary" places. I lived in the north pretty much my entire life and I haven't seen anything that rivals Detroit.

thats pretty much true. not surprising really, when the northerners come down and try to make the towns just like the ones they left. the ones they left for the things they want the south to do. does not make much sense does it.
