Good place to upload 250MB of files to be selectively downloaded?

My mother wants me to send 250MB worth of JPG and MOV files to a few family members. I don't want to burden them with downloading a huge 250MB file. I just want to upload these to a place that will show thumbnail images for all the files and allow the person to selectively download specific files.

I wouldn't want the recipients to register, just click an unpublished link that I send.

Is there an easy / free service to do this? ...or would this require a full-on web host?

DropBox? No thumbnails I don't think but you can send an email with what files are what with the links built in...

250MB?! that's all?

this drop box link will get me some free space:

but either way; drop-box is awesome. I've entirely replaced my USB-Flash-Memory-Drive (which I used to lose all the time) with this product.

It's awesome; I put all of my working files in there; a copy evaporates into the cloud and then it rains down on each of the computers I have the drop-box installed on.

Not do I never have to worry about not having the right files to work on, but I have everything that matters to me backed up online, and on the hard drive of every computer I use.

It also links up with my i-Pad's PDF reader and office application.

I use Ubuntu One. Probably similar to DropBox. You could also setup a torrent, but that could be a PITA if the recipients don't know how to install/use a client.

I'll try it. Still, I'd prefer something that wouldn't require software, so I could upload via HTTP or FTP.

I'll get a web host someday.

picasa web will let you create private albums, and it supports videos as well

there's an option to share with anyone who has the link, which is exactly what you want.

DixyCrat:
I was surprised that the referral link actually granted an additional 250MB storage to me also.

Enjoy your extra 250MB.

I'll probably check out Picasa too. Thanks, all.
