I need to get a sofa, a recliner or some kind of chair, coffee table set or something for the new apartment I'm getting soon. Any places where I can get some furniture at some reasonable prices? TIA!

High Point and Hickory, NC are some of the best places to get furniture in the Southeast. Obviously, this wouldn't be a day trip for you, but worth thinking about if you're ever in that area. My wife and I picked up a beautiful cherry buffet there and had it shipped to our door for an extra $50. Totally worth it since we paid about half what it would have been here in Atlanta.

We furnished our living room and den with Levitz. They have sales running all the time and a 30-day price match (same store) policy that they've honored a couple of times for us. They're great.

Seamans was good for a dining room set. Look for sales... they have them ALL THE TIME.

If you don't mind used, you'll probably get your best bargains via want ads/consignment.

You also might be able to find solid wood pieces such as tables inexpensively at an unfinished furniture store. It just takes a weekend of sanding/staining/finish coat.

Thanks, I'll look into them.
