My verizon contract is ending and I'm planning to go with kitty wireless. Any suggestions on a good place to buy new/refurbished phones. At kitty the phones are a little expensive due to their 2 yr replacement warranty. I want to buy something cheaper with limited warranty say 90 days.

I'm not too comfortable with ebay. Do those phones come with warranty? Any experiences on there?

Kitty Wireless isn't a carrier nor a MVNO. They are a dealer/agent for PagePlus, who is an MVNO reseller of Verizon Wireless. Don't refer to it as "Kitty Wireless". You're looking to activate a phone on PagePlus Cellular.

Regardeless of that fact, Kitty Wireless charges fucking RIDICULOUS amounts for services that can be had much cheaper elsewhere. $20 to activate a phone? PagePlus themselves activate for $10. PagePlusDirect is $6.

Avoid Kitty Wireless at all costs... she used to be good, now she's just fucking greedy.

As far as phones go - it's called Craigslist or eBay. Just don't buy a 4g LTE phone, otherwise you'll be in for a headache.

Thanks sunny. I will check out pageplusdirect. I think you missed my point about having some limited warranty. That's why I am avoiding craigslist. I see ebay provides some geeksquad warranty. Maybe I'll check that out.

Warranty schmorranty. Basically, you buy a second-hand phone for dirt cheap, and if it breaks you buy a new second-hand phone for dirt cheap. That's your warranty.

Any warranty you buy with your phone will have some sort of deductible, so you're more than likely going to pay out of pocket regardless. Besides, on PagePlus, unless you're willing to "hack" a newer phone, you're not going to be using anything newer than a Droid 3 or a Samsung Fascinate without a bit of work anyway. Those phone should have a very low cost of entry making a warranty pretty much moot.

"Highest" end phones that should work on PagePlus without any "user" intervention (just OTA program and be done):
Droid 3
Droid X2
Samsung Fascinate
iPhone 4S
HTC Rhyme
LG Enlighten
HTC Trophy
HTC Incredible 2

Idk if you have t mobile service in your area or not but their pre paid is worth looking into. You'll get way faster data speeds that's for sure and way better phones too.
