Good photo editing program for cheap?

Im looking at Adobe Photo Elements 2.0 for $85, waddya think?

I got PSE 2.0 a while back for about $25 after rebates. It's great software for the price. You might also want to look into Paint Shop Pro.

warning if you're using windows: the site explains that unexpected crashes are commonplace in the windows version.

Gimp also does not support saving to Gif because of licensing issues.

I've never had Gimp crash on me on Win32 and I hate GIFs.

I think Elements is excellent. I got v1 bundled with my digicam and was suprised how much of the feature set it retains of Photoshop. Look around and you might find it bundled with a scanner for that price or even less.

I've never had the GIMP for Win32 crash on any of my systems either.

you can still use GIMP and GIFS......just dl the component. screw stupid licensing issues over a file format
