Ok, so I'm fairly positive this has been asked before, but search didn't seem to help me much.

Anyway, I'm just wondering what some good pay-per-download or monthly flat-rate sites there are out there for music. I know iTunes of course, but $1/song seems a bit steep, although I'm guessing their selection is probably pretty great. Any other places ya'll have personal experience (good or bad) with?

allofmp3.com

Most will argue the legality of the site, but that's for you to decide.

Paying for lossy (mp3) music?

Get the original cd for $7 at yourmusic.com and rip to FLAC.

Great service

I wonder if there is a Netflix like service for music CD's.... That would be a good way to build up your collection pretty quickly ;)

You could always try your local library.

As I previously posted, is a lot like netflix except you keep the CDs.

Theres also LaLa, where you make a list of the cd's you have and want, and you trade cd's with other members via netflix-style prepaid envelopes. Great service.

Heh... You wouldn't even need to check them out if you had your laptop with you

I doubt that my local library has a good collection, though.
