Hi guys,

I've have just ordered new components for my little pc upgrade and was reading up on the great overclocking abilities of the 3200+ venice. I did order some memory, which I think has some great price/performance quality in my price range. I was just wondering what all you uber overclockers think of the memory in terms of overclocking. These are my upgrade components:

Asus A8N-E
1 x OCZ 512M x 2 400MHz PC-3200 Dual Channel w/heatspreader (OCZ4001024PDC-K)
Athlon 64 3200+ Venice core
Ati Radeon X800 256 mb

Thx for any opninions, info and questions....

Hmm... That RAM looks okay. I dont see how it will OC well, because of its conservative timings. Maybe you should gone for Corsair ValueRAM which can do 2.5-3-3-7 for 230 for 10-20 bucks less.

EDIT: How much did you pay for this?

That memory should be fine. If you hit a wall running 1:1, then you can always use a divider to overclock your CPU. You won't notice any performance decrease when using a divider.

I'm from holland so that memory is more expensive here, I paid ?110 for it.

I could try changing it for this memory (OCZ4001024ELDCPE-K) it's PE and barely in my price range (it's about ?40 more) but if it's that much better.....I might. What's your opinion??

Oh, and do the heatspreaders have any additional value or is it just pretty...:)

Now I 'm gonna sleep, it's very late.....

Thx guys

Return the OCZ if possible. Corsair Value Select or Kingston Value RAM should yield the most performance for the least amount of $. Use 5:6 memory divider and you will be able to hit at least 275MHz FSB if your CPU can go that high.

Ok, I think I'm gonna go for a little bit more expensive memory here. What about the OCZ Platinum Edition (here) is it any good, or is Corsair Value Select gonna get me better performance in that price range? Any input will be appreciated.
