I'm looking for a lightweight Outlook alternative for use on my netbook. Exchange support isn't pivotal, but it would be nice to sync with google calendar.
Does it have to be free? If not try EssentialPIM. I just bought the Pro version. I like it better than Outlook. Don't know how light weight it is. There is a trial version. http://www.essentialpim.com/
I use Thunderbird with the lightening extension. Works great with google calendar via WebDav (on ubuntu and windows). The windows live mail application seems to work pretty well with imap-gmail accts. Not sure about google calendar though. All of which are free. Prism - a mozilla based application might work for you since you are on a netbook. Its basically a one site only browser with no toolbars using space on your small screen.
