Damn, I guess my lying eyes are deceiving me again. WIN XP must be slower that I perceive it to be. All the "Candy Land" GUI must have clouded my brain.

I've only got XP on one system and I actually rather like the GUI,I also really appreciate how cool the networking features are but was advised to focus on WIN2K in order not to confuse myself prior to exams. In any case I think either OS is better than Win98 in terms of stabilty and security.

That's strange... I thought I would hate XP and vowed to never upgrade from 2k. Then I got it on my work computer... had to test it before the execs, of course. Then I got a copy for $20 and put it on my home box. Now I don't think it's all that bad.

I went from 98 to 2k. At first I hated 2k, but after I read about tweaking it and customizing things, I love it. Been using it for over a year now. I've used XP a little. It's not bad, but I need to play around with it more so I can get a good feeling for it. Right now, I'm neutral on XP.

Yup, and I get higher refresh rates with it for some strange reason.

err o/s has nothing to do with refresh😛 u can set any refresh you want in display properties/advanced if your monitor can handle it. you probably didn't have your monitor inf installed in win2k😛 can always click list all modes and choose refresh manually.. probably have tod o it anyways since windows always defaults to some sh*tty ass refresh.
