My friend and I were reminiscing about all the old computer games that we used to play. Wolfenstein 3-D, Duke Nukem 3d and Doom were among our favorite games from the "old days"... I was wondering what old games you guys played were? Enjoy the stroll down memory lane... 😀

i downloaded a thing called doom remake. it is doom, doom2 etc redone.

the graphics are great. i re-played the TNT pack and loved it.

I recently downloaded Wolfenstein 3d and Duke Nukem... Its amazing how it only took like 3 seconds to download when it took like 3 hours 10 years ago 😀 ... do you remember where you got doom remake? Ill search for it.

wolf3d, doom = old days?
damn I feel old now 😕

First game I remember playing was pac-man. I remembered a path for the first 4 levels, since the AI was so shoddy if you took the same path the ghosts would do the same thing.

Indiana Jones and the Fate of Atlantis - if anybody has it ... please let me know ... will pay!

You can try searching for "Abandonware", and might get lucky. There's also a SourceForge project that's re-create the engine all those old LucasArts games used ... ScummVM, I think. I still have the 5 1/4" disks for Last Crusade last time I checked back home. Those old lucasarts games were some of the best I've ever played.

I tried to install Command and Conquer: Red Alert last week and it will not install on Win XP🙁
Try running the program in windows 98 mode.

tried it, no go

Look on google, I remember there is a way to download and replace some file in RA with one from another C&C game that will work with XP. I got it to work a while ago.

As nice as the compatibility modes are, they don't work 100%. I've got several Win95 era games that will not run on XP no matter what I do. That's why last time I reformatted, I made my system a triple-boot. XP / 98 / Mandrake

Loderunner and Beachhead are the old days for me.
Being able to build your own maps for Loderunner was the coolest thing ever.
I use to spend hours and hours with my friends copying..err, I mean playing, games. 😉

I remember playing a lot of Scorched Earth and Line Wars II on my 286.

I only had the demo for linewars, but that game was awesome

Yeah I only had the shareware version but man was it cool. I can still remember some of the music from it, it was catchy. I've got the full abandonware version nowadays, though I can't really play it in WinXP.. I should setup an old computer for games like these. 😀

I played a lot of F-117 Stealth Fighter on my Commodore64, and a lot of Ultima II on my TRS-80 model III.

Lemmings and SimCity too.

x-com: ufo defense.

Another vote for X-Com. And also this game... like mission to mars or something where you had to go to mars and find these plant people and wake the humans up from some dream world... That game was sweet.

the exact same games you mentioned were all my favs.. but i had a FEW more favorites too... Sim City 2000.. Sim Farm, Transport Tycoon, RailRoad Tycoon... I love those type of games also!!
