<< EPoX has just forwarded me a list of GeForce 4 Ti 4600 recommended for the people having EPoX 8KHA/+. This card corresponds to the cards tested by EPoX and which function:

Msi Ti4600 8872.
WINFAST Ti4600 A250 Ultra TD AGP card.
Gainward Ti4600 ULTRA/750XP AGP card.

This list should fill in the next days, we will hold you of course with the current...

I apologize if this is a repost, I did and search with no matches.. sooo.. all I have to say is if this can be ****CONFIRMED**** then a bunch of us can be a little reassured, I spose. 🙂

*crosses fingers in the hope that the Gainward'll work...*

So does that mean they aren't going to do what they should and issue a recall and fix of their out-of-ATX-spec board?

Probably not, since most recalls happen due to a flaw or defect in a product, not just an avoidable, fixable inconvienence, and since the out of spec capacitors were in the intended design, Epox has no reason to recall. The boards work just fine.

Leadtek, Gainward, and MSI leave some fine choices for cards. It's a bummer that Epox made the design boo boo that they did, and it'll probably keep me from buying of another one of their boards for a while, but at least some of the video card manufacturers are stepping up (intentionally or not, I'm not sure) to help resolve some problems.

Just rip that capacitor out of your motherboard, it's there for looks anyway. Epox recommends this, after all

You guys really dont know jack.

EPOX never claimed the 8KHA+ to be AGP 2.0 compliant, and never advertised to be so. All it has is a AGP 2.0 COMPATIBLE slot.

And that makes it OK? What kind of moron jams up large capacitors right next to AGP/PCI slots? Couldn't they find any better place to put it?

xtreme2k.. that's what I said.

Epox shouldn't need to recall since that's how they designed it to be.

Geez.. you don't know jack.

Anyways.. the point of my post was to get the word out that there are some Ti4600's out there that WILL fit, for some of the Epox owners who might have been a little worried... didn't mean to fan the flames. 😛
