Wanted to get a new RTS. I already have CnC generals, RTW and Civ4...

Did not like the star wars demo for some reason. I was thinking between Warhammer 40ks, act of war and BFME2. Any other reccomendations?

you could always download the WH40K demo, but it's a really good game.

Warhammer 40k (and the expansion) is one of the best RTS's out there.

Also, for a change, download Rome:Total Realism modification for RTW. It makes it 10x better.

What about online play and playability...Will act of war run on 300ms latencies given thats its such a complex game? Ive played the demo and liked it...But I only want to get one for now.

Fair enough. Just letting you know rometotalrealism makes it a whole new experience (they changed quite a bit, for the better).

But pick up WH40k. Awesome game.

hands down coolest new RTS

I have to disagree. Too much micromanagement. I pre ordered BFME2 and Empire at War. I bailed on Empire after I got the demo CD.

Glad you like it, how does it compare to the demo?

I heard there really wasn't much micromanagement in SW. Maybe that is incorrect? BTW, does anyone know if they fixed the multiplayer bugs in that game yet?

I played the WAR40K demo...seems like a nice game...Ill try the AOW demo and decide...But WAR40K should have a much larger online player base. I played the first few missions of AOW but did not like them (story line and campaign) but skirmishes seem nice.

Star Wars: Empire at War
LOTR: The Battle for Middle Earth 2

Or if you want to play a turn-based game... one that's like a completely clone of Masters of Orion, check out Galactic Civilizations 2 from Stardock.

That was before I became interested in RTSs...First I played was RA2 :p ..Ive tried starcraft a couple of times but just can't get used to the visuals :p

Act of Wars new expansion pack with naval units looks decent too.

I might pick up LOTR: BF2...The demos pretty large..Takes time to download on a 256 shared connection where I can only download at night :( ....
