Good MP3 players?

I'm looking for another program that sounds "better" on a 7.1 speaker setup. I'm a bit of an audiophile, and found PowerDVD, WMP10, and Creative's music player to sound better - has more of a "surround" feel to it. Thing is, PowerDVD doesn't display the playlist while it's playing, WMP distorts the sound a bit, and there was a bug saving playlists in Creative's player, unless they fixed it already. So are there any alternatives that function well like Winamp and sounds better?

Give WMP11 a go, much better than WMP10. Also, my all time favourite, foobar2000. Takes a while to configure with 7.1 (last time I checked), but the output quality is unmatched by anything available today.

MusikCube. It has SQL buildable search strings to really choose the music you want.

Itunes 7.

It's slower than WMP11 and foobar2000, but its layout, library management and playlist creation features have yet to be surpassed, in my opinion.

EDIT: Also, plugins exist (but I haven't tried them) where you can actually send the music through foobar to use some of its excellent audio quality features.

In Winamp, which output plugin are you using?

Something to verify/try:
Use the DirectSound output plugin
In its Configure options, check "Allow hardware acceleration" then click Apply/OK, and start up the audio.
That should send sound to all your speakers.
