Good move, Dominos

So, we at school are a bunch of pizza maniacs, and we're college students - so we don't have money. As such, the Dominos 5-5-5 deal is a godsend.... Or, rather, used to be.

Just about every day, we'll order an average of 7 pizzas between everybody. That's big business - and we generally tip very well.

At Dominos, you can ask for some ranch or garlic sauce (ranch + bacon pizza FTMFW!) and they're supposed to give it to you for free. And they always have... Although they have a VERY bad habit of forgetting it come delivery time. Recently, we've been making them go back and get it. This went on for about 3 weeks - and then when we called up one day to make our order, they told us they were now charging 75 cents per little-cup-'o-ranch. Being that none of us felt like running to the grocery store to retrieve any ranch salad dressing, we went ahead and paid for them - just that once. And then when the pizzas arrived, printed nicely on the label was "3 RANCH - $0.00".... And because they were "charging" us for the ranch, we weren't tipping, either (sorry, pizza drivers, that's the way it works - if you start charging for something that was free yesterday, you guys will have to pay for it). EXACT CHANGE.

So, naturally, this is pretty fvcking suspicious. So we place another call from someone's cell phone that isn't associated with our normal delivery address. The ranch is free for them... Naturally, that order isn't actually placed, but it's enough proof to shitlist Dominos.

If I were the manager at Dominos, I'd add you to the shitlist too.

Why? It's Dominos who is forgetting to bring the ranch...

Good lord, no Dominos! You'll have to try other pizza joints. You might discover that pizza can actually taste good.

If you ask for something - free or not, and it gets printed on the damn slip that gets attached to the pizza box, it's part of the order and providing it is part of the agreement, and skipping out on it is bad customer service.

reminds me of the chinese place from seinfeld where elaine gets black-listed... heh

but i feel the same way. charging people for condiments are too saucy... no puns intended. they make way more than that 5 cents or whatever it costs for a cup of ranch.

Sadly, when you're in college, a meal that costs more than $5 is prettymuch out of the question.

Er, isn't that the pizza parlor where George gets blacklisted for trying to steal from the tip jar?

It's not part of the actual pizza, simply a free item completely seperate from the pizza. Them forgetting it sucks, but I wouldn't make them drive back and get it. However if I were dominos, I'd send the driver back with it anyways for good customers.

there's an episode when elaine pissed off the chinese delivery guy, and she had to ask jerry to order for her, and he got blacklisted too. then she found a janitor's closet and ordered from there, but eventually got busted too.

Is it the driver's fault? Sending the driver to go back for their crappy sauce is crummy. They took it out on the wrong person, especially by not tipping.

It's on the damn list - it's the same thing as forgetting an order of breadsticks, or, as Dominos has proven possible in the past, TWO THIRDS OF THE DAMNED ORDER.

I didn't see that one, but this stuff seems common is Seinfeld. Kramer gets blacklisted from a grocery store for trying to return fruit or something, so he starts asking the other guys to buy fruit for him, but the guy who owns the place recognizes the fruit that Kramer usually gets and blacklists them too.

Get together a large enough group of poor people, and you have $35 to drop on a meal for a large group pretty damn quickly.

but think: why did they got blacklisted? how would the place knows that they made the delivery guy go back to get the sauce if the delivery boy didn't b!tch about it back in the store?

the delivery guy squealed. he gets what he deserves.
