whats a good motherboard for under $80? I already have a K7S5A. Im building a system for my grandma and im going to give her my ECS board and get me a new one. What should i get?
that looks good but i need more then 3 PCI slots. I have a huge case so microATX is a little too small lol. I'd like at least 4 PCI. Ive seen some other shuttle and gigabyte boards w/ KT333 chipsets at newegg, but don't know what is good. The only board i've ever had is this ECS.
Yeah, definitely go with a KT333 based motherboard if you want something better than a K7S5A. Anyways, the Biostar M7VIP should be good for you and that's only $62 at Newegg. Alright there ya go.
You can get a KT7A-RAID from newegg for only $ 70 plus $ freight that is a vey good performer. For $ 88 plus $ 4 freight you can get a KX7-333, which is well worth the price-up from $ 80, and it is Recomended Highly.
i think i'll probably go with that Biostar. How is overclocking with it? I just want to be able to up my FSB and multiplier. Anything should be better then my ECS.
I've seen people selling the K7S5A for $40. Great board if you get an Athlon for $60 and you'll have a combo for $100. I sold a 1.4Ghz CPU and 512MB PC2100 with this board well over a year ago and I'm kicking myself for it. Would have made a great 2nd system.
i just said in my frist post i HAVE a K7S5A and want something better. what about the Epox EP-8K3AE? It looks good from what i see, but i dont know much.
If you live by a Fry's I might suggest one of their killer combo deals.
This week is the XP1800 w/ MSI K7T266 Pro 2a for $109. Thats cheap!
Every other week they have the Soyo Dragon Lite KT333 w/ XP2000+ for $149. Go for that!
They also sell sometimes XP with FIC ATI integrated motherboard, I forgot the details.
